Author E. Jean Carroll reaches the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals; Here, former US President Donald Trump will ask the federal appeals court to overturn the $5 million jury verdict that found him liable for sexual assault and defamation, accusing Trump of raping him nearly three decades ago in Manhattan, New York, USA, on September 6, 2024.

The Supreme Court said Monday it will not hear President Donald Trump’s appeal of a New York federal court jury’s decision that awarded author E. Jean Carroll $5 million in damages for being sexually harassed and defamed by Trump.
Trump was also found civilly liable by another Manhattan federal court jury for defaming Carroll. Trump was awarded $83.3 million in this case, which he appealed to a lower federal appeals court.
The Supreme Court did not explain why it denied Trump’s request to hear his appeal of the $5 million ruling, as it does with such orders. None of the justices, three of whom were appointed to the high court by Trump, issued a written dissent to the decision.
