Masked thieves target donations at temple burglary

CCTV captured the moment a masked man used a grinder to break into a Sikh temple, cause damage and steal a donation box.

Police believe two criminals were involved in the theft at the Shri Guru Ravidass Sabha temple in Campbellfield, north of Melbourne, at around 10.30pm on December 29.

In the footage, the couple can be seen arriving at the temple before a masked man wearing a black hoodie, gloves and an orange face mask forces his way into the building.

He is seen approaching the temple inside and removing a large donation box before stealing approximately $1,500 in cash.

As the men get into the car, the donation box is carried outside before being left in the parking lot.

Detectives have released CCTV footage and footage of one of the men they believe may assist their investigation.
