After ‘AAPda’ exit, Delhi witnessing rapid all-round development: PM Modi

Addressing a public event in the national capital, the Prime Minister said “liberation” from the “Aapda” government a year ago was essential for the development of the city.
“This program today is also a testament to how important the liberation from ‘Aapda’ that Delhi achieved a year ago is. If there was no ‘Aapda’ government here, this Metro Phase 4 project would have been completed much earlier. But the ‘Aapda’ traders had put the comfort of lakhs of people in Delhi on the backburner for their political interests. After the BJP government came to power here, there has been rapid progress in Delhi. All-round development,” the Prime Minister said.
He claimed that the development in Delhi was progressing faster after the BJP government took office. The Prime Minister also claimed that development work in the region has been stalled for the last decade, adding that the current government is working in mission mode to find solutions to the capital’s challenges. Dealing another blow to AAP, Prime Minister Modi said that the previous government focused on making excuses instead of executing projects.
“The AAPda government has stopped all development work in this region for the last 10 years. Now our government is working in mission mode to tackle the challenges facing Delhi. With the construction of the Ring Expressway, hundreds of thousands of vehicles no longer need to enter the city. Our government is also taking large-scale initiatives to clean the Yamuna River. Those who brought ‘Aapda’ had a way: less work and more excuses. Today, Delhi’s development model is: excuses stopped, work started. Earlier, projects would die in files; today, projects come to life on the ground,” said Prime Minister Modi.
Highlighting the newly launched metro projects, the Prime Minister said that the expansion will significantly benefit commuters, especially in East and North-East Delhi.
The Prime Minister said, “The newly launched Metro section today will provide great convenience to millions of people in the capital. Daily transportation will become much easier than before, especially for people in East and North East Delhi. With all this, round trip journeys from NCR cities such as Ghaziabad, Noida, Faridabad and Gurugram to different parts of Delhi will also become easier.” he said. The Prime Minister also noted that Delhi’s transport environment has been transformed in recent years. He said the inauguration of the Namo Bharat train connecting the city to Western Uttar Pradesh and the expansion of the metro network over 375 kilometers under Phase 4 will further increase connectivity.
“There was a time when Delhi was often criticized for its inefficient transport system. Commuting from one part of the city to another took hours and women often had to wait for long periods at bus stops hoping to catch a bus or a rickshaw. But the situation in Delhi is changing rapidly. Just a few days ago, the city was connected to Western Uttar Pradesh via the Namo Bharat train, making travel between the two regions significantly easier. Additionally, with the launch of Metro Phase 4, Delhi’s Metro network has now expanded to over 375 kilometres, meaning It has further enhanced connectivity and convenience for residents,” said PM Modi.
Emphasizing the national importance of the capital, the Prime Minister said that Delhi represents India’s identity and energy.
Prime Minister Modi said, “When any person in the world thinks of a vast democracy like India, the image of Delhi usually comes to mind. Delhi is not just the capital of India; it is India’s identity, a symbol of India’s energy. The development of Delhi is not just the growth of a city; it depends on the image of the entire nation.”
The Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several development projects worth approximately Rs 33,500 billion in the national capital today. He was also thanked at the event.
Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister visited the GPRA Type-5 neighborhood in Sarojini Nagar and handed over the keys to the women participants.
