Iran warns neighbors about striking US bases after Donald Trump’s threat

The Islamic Republic has issued a stern warning to its neighbors, saying it will hit American bases there if the United States attacks Iran, a senior Iranian official told Reuters on Wednesday, following U.S. President Donald Trump’s stern warning to Iran. The statement came after US support for protesters who claimed “very strict” action would be taken if Tehran executed its detained citizens.

Iranian officials claimed that the United States and Israel are inciting violence in Iran and inciting its people through people the Islamic regime calls terrorists.

Threat from Trump to Iran

For days, Trump has threatened to intervene in violent Iran, where more than 2,000 people have died after Ayatollah Khamenei’s Islamic regime launched a massive crackdown on protesters in what was the largest anti-government protest in years.

The Trump administration did not provide any details about the scope, timing or method of the intervention. “Patriots of Iran, CONTINUE TO PROTEST – TAKE YOUR INSTITUTIONS IN HANDS!!!… ON THE WAY TO HELP,” he said in his post on the Truth Social platform. In another post, he described the Iranian government’s response as “senseless killing”

The US President has repeatedly threatened to use the military if the Islamic Republic uses lethal force against anti-government protesters. He had previously confirmed that Iranian officials had reached out to the US for talks, while stating that his team was considering “very strong options”.

Trump emphasized the following in his interview with CBS News: US stance on the situation“If they do something like this, we will take very strong action,” he said. When asked about his ultimate goal, he replied: “The end of the game is to win. I love winning.”

US troops are withdrawing from the Middle East

According to many news in the media, it is reported that the USA wants its soldiers to withdraw from important bases in the Middle East as a precaution due to the increasing tensions in the region and the Iranian threat.

Certain personnel were told to leave the region’s main U.S. air base, according to three diplomats, but there were no immediate reports of a full-scale troop withdrawal like the one carried out before last year’s Iranian missile attack.

Reuters, citing these diplomats, said some personnel were advised to leave the US military’s Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar on the evening of January 14. One of them described the action as a “change of stance” and not an “orderly evacuation”. However, there was no information regarding large-scale movements of troops from the base to nearby areas.
