Highway delays after back-to-back crashes north of Brisbane
Two serious crashes within minutes of each other on Thursday morning delayed traffic north of Brisbane for hours.
Just before 6.30am two vehicles traveling northbound on the Bruce Highway near Beerwah collided and at the same time a motorcyclist was also seriously injured when he crashed into a lorry at Mango Hill.
Emergency services were called to both locations.
In the first crash, a car left the road and rolled into bushes, while a man was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital. His condition is stable.
The second cyclist was taken to the same hospital in serious condition.
Both roads have reopened, but Queensland Traffic and Google were still reporting heavy delays heading north along the Bruce Highway and the adjacent Steve Irwin Highway at 10.15am.
