After Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar also left an appreciation post for Yami Gautam, praising her performance in Haq. However, netizens brought up an old video in which Yami was clearly ignored by the producer and the actress was not even considered for the group photo.

Amidst the wave of appreciation, Alia Bhatt wrote a note applauding her performance in Haq and calling her ‘Queen’. Shortly after Alia’s Instagram post, Karan Johar also praised Yami and showered her praises on Instagram. Karan wrote: “I don’t think I have been this moved by a performance in many years… To say that Yaami Gautam is Wonderful, extraordinary, Breaking the Road is still not enough… His silences, his looks, his final monologue and his presence throughout the film are an example of mastery and conviction…. All hail to him!”

Yami responded to Alia and Karan, accepted their praise and thanked them for their kind words. However, netizens realized that Alia and Karan were acting opportunistically and praised her only after the Dhurandhar wave hit the country.

One of the netizens found an old video of Yami Gautam participating in India’s Got Talent, where Karan Johar and Kirron Kher are clearly seen lost in their own world and ignoring Yami. Later, the judges (Karan, Malaika and Kiron) were called for a group photo and again they didn’t mind inviting Yami to join them in the photo. In one of Yami’s interviews, he recalled feeling ignored by film people and choked up discussing differentiation and strange mannerisms.
