Techie Ends Life After Learning Of Girlfriend’s Suicide

Visakhapatnam: A young couple died by suicide in two different cities following a relationship dispute, police said Friday.

The woman, identified as Pavani, died in Hyderabad, while her boyfriend Raja Shyam Kumar, an IT professional from Visakhapatnam, was found dead in a hostel room near Bheemili around midnight.

Police suspect Shyam Kumar. After he did not respond and found him unresponsive, lodge staff entered his room using a spare key. They informed the police.

Two suicide notes were seized in the room. “No one is responsible for my death. I’m sorry, mom,” one of the notes read, according to police.

Police said the couple first met at Pavani’s home in Anakapalli. Although they were separated from each other later, they reunited in Hyderabad.

A police official said that Shyam Kumar appeared to have taken the extreme step after learning about Pavani’s death. While his body was taken to the morgue for autopsy, his family was informed.

The cases were registered at Bheemili police station in Visakhapatnam district and Jeedimetla police station in Hyderabad. The investigation was ongoing.
