Three cabin crew members injured after horror turbulence hit a flight from Los Angeles to Sydney, Australia, were taken directly to hospital. During landing at Sydney Airport, the plane experienced severe turbulence and people were shaken from their seats.
When Delta Airlines flight DL 41 landed at 6.45 am local time on Friday, March 20, paramedics rushed to the scene. The NSW Ambulance Service said they received a call just three minutes before the plane was due to land. Three members of the cabin crew were taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for further treatment. The other 2 people were treated at the scene for complaints of back pain, headache and knee pain. Paramedics evaluated five people, including two 71-year-olds, a 60-year-old woman and a 37-year-old woman.
The Airbus A350 had 245 passengers and 15 crew members.
A spokesperson for Delta told 7News the flight from Los Angeles to Sydney encountered “brief turbulence.”
“Nothing is more important than the safety of our people and customers, and our priority is to care for the affected crew members,” they said.
According to FlightAware data, the plane left Los Angeles at 22:11 local time on Wednesday.
