Girl dies after being hit by pickup truck in Boise’s North End

A teenager died Tuesday evening at a Boise hospital after being struck by a pickup truck at a North End intersection earlier in the day.
The Boise Police Department said in a statement late in the afternoon. Publish on X It was reported that a pedestrian was struck at the intersection of Harrison Boulevard and Ada Street, and the teenager suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
In a news release Tuesday night, police said the girl died as a result of the crash, which occurred just after 4:30 p.m. The Ada County Coroner’s Office will release the girl’s identity after next of kin are notified.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the pickup truck and the girl were traveling westbound on Ada Street when they stopped at the intersection of Harrison Boulevard, according to the release. The girl and the truck entered the intersection and the truck hit Harrison as it turned toward him.
Paramedics took him to hospital but he died a few hours later.
“This is a parent’s worst nightmare, and our hearts go out tonight to the victim’s family, friends and community at large,” Boise Police Chief Chris Dennison said in the press release. “Boise Police will release additional information as the investigation develops.”
Harrison Boulevard was closed from Sherman Street to Resseguie Street during the investigation, police said, but it has reopened.
