AIIMS doctor warns after 45-year-old’s migraine was diagnosed as brain tumour, shares key symptoms

Migraines are usually mixed with simple headaches caused by stress, but not all harmless. Frequent or severe migraines can sometimes indicate serious health problems. Dr Rahul Chawla, a neurologist in AIIMS Delhi, announced in an Instagram article on October 4 that some migraine may be connected to serious situations such as brain tumors.

Is migraine sign of something more serious?

“A 45 -year -old man suffered from migraine for 20 years, was well checked on the drug. He had stopped taking migraine medications six months ago, and there was no headache at that time. However, he has been experiencing constant head pain for the last two months,” he explains.

Initially, the sick thought that there was a migraine, and he was given medicine by taking migraine medications from a pharmacy. Dr Chawla said, “Even after taking the medicine for a month, headaches did not diminish,” Dr Chawla said. When the patient arrives for consultation, the examination appeared thin but about signs: a slight stutter in the sound and an unstable walk.

MRI revealed the cause: a tumor in the brain. “We call it a secondary headache. Usually a headache that makes you feel like migraine is not migraine, it is a secondary headache and may be more than one cause.
