Air Force F-35 fighter jet crashes near Las Vegas, pilot injured

U.S. Air Force officials confirmed that a pilot was injured after an F-35 fighter jet crashed north of Las Vegas, Nevada, on Tuesday.

Nellis Air Force Base Public Affairs told Fox News Digital that the plane crashed about 25 miles northeast of Indian Springs, Nevada, within the controlled airspace and limited federal property of the Nevada Test and Training Range.

Officials said the pilot was safe and was treated for minor injuries.

Emergency response teams are at the scene.

As of Tuesday afternoon, it was unclear what caused the crash.

Nellis Air Force Base said densely populated areas were not affected.

“The safety of our staff and community remains our top priority,” a spokesperson told Fox Digital.
