This move is in compliance with an order issued by the Commission on Air Quality Management (CAQM) to prevent further deterioration of air quality in Delhi-NCR as pollution levels have already exceeded 450 AQI.
“In accordance with the decision (CAQM order of GRAP-IV), DOE, NDMC, MCD and all Heads of Government Aided Unaided Recognized Private Schools of Delhi Cantonment Board are directed to conduct classes for children up to Class IX and XI in schools in a ‘Hybrid’ Mode i.e. in both physical and online mode (wherever online mode is possible) with immediate effect until further notice,” the circular said.
DoE clarified that the choice to opt for online mode wherever possible will rest with students and their parents. Schools were also asked to immediately inform parents and guardians of the decision.
The circular also directs district and regional education officers to visit schools under their jurisdiction to ensure proper compliance with the order.
