Airlines to Cancel 444 Flights

New Delhi: Indian airlines are expected to cancel 444 international flights on Sunday due to airspace restrictions in the Middle East, according to the civil aviation ministry. The civil aviation ministry on Saturday reviewed the preparations of aviation stakeholders in the face of flight disruptions following Israeli and US attacks on Iran.

“Due to airspace restrictions over Iran and some parts of the Middle East, 410 flights of domestic carriers were canceled on February 28, and 444 flights are expected to be canceled on March 1,” the ministry said in a post published on channel X early Sunday morning. he said.

Aviation regulatory authority DGCA works closely with airlines to ensure full compliance with safety and operational regulations.

Additionally, major airports remain on operational alert to manage potential diversions and ensure uninterrupted passenger facilitation.

The ministry said passenger assistance, airline coordination and terminal crowd management are being closely monitored, with senior officials deployed on the ground.

It said the Passenger Assistance Control Room (PACR) continues to closely monitor passengers’ concerns and facilitate quick remediation.

“On February 28, AirSewa registered 216 complaints and during the same period, 105 complaints were resolved and necessary support was provided to the affected passengers,” he added.
