The BBC reported that the UAE’s aviation authority temporarily closed the country’s airspace as an “exceptional precautionary measure”.
Live air traffic reporter FlightRadar24 showed eerily empty airspace over the UAE in the early hours of Tuesday, March 17.
On Monday, Emirates, the Middle East’s largest airline, canceled some flights after a drone crashed into an oil tank near Dubai International Airport and caused a fire.
The General Civil Aviation Authority said air traffic operations have returned to normal in UAE airspace.
