Akka Cafe inaugurated in Dharwad

The Minister of Labor and the Regional Responsible Santosh Lad said that Akka Cafe, which will be fully operated by women from self -aid groups, would be a blessing for economic strengthening.
On Saturday, a Akka cafe was opened by Dharwad Zilla Panchayat by the self -help group of Kabbenur Village of Kabbenur Village.
In accordance with the national livelihood, the Minister said that the Ministry of Lives implemented various programs to reduce poverty in urban and rural areas and that Akka Cafe is such an attempt to strengthen women economically.
“In order to encourage women to take subsistence activities, the state government announced the Akka Cafe program in the 2024-25 budget. The government approved 50 cafes Sanjivini (Akka Cafe) in the state to be carried out entirely by women. Accordingly, such cafes will be established in the Dharwad region.”

After opening the café, the minister and others examined food preparation facilities. Later, they enjoyed the food prepared in the cafe.
In accordance with the Akka Cafe program, such two cafes in the Dharwad region were presented to the government. And after determining the appropriate land, approval was given and the grants were released.
For the implementation of the program, a seven -member committee under the chairmanship of Joint Food and Civil Services Director was established.
