Aldi recalls popular Christmas food product over allergy risk

Aldi is recalling a popular Christmas food product due to allergy risk.
The supermarket chain is urging customers who bought a batch of its Perfect Christmas Mozzarella Sticks in Blankets not to eat them.
It was warned that the product contained egg, but this ingredient was not stated on the label; This means the food is potentially dangerous for people with egg allergies or intolerances.
Customers are advised to return the product to the nearest store for a full refund.
The affected batch has an expiration date of December 15, 2025, weighs 278 grams, and has a barcode of 4069365328743.
The company issued a notice and apology to customers and also alerted allergy support organizations.
Aldi’s product safety recall notice states: “Our supplier is recalling Perfect Christmas Mozzarella Sticks in Blankets as a precaution because the product was mislabelled and contains an undeclared allergen (egg).
“Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store where a full refund will be issued.
“We apologize that this product does not meet our normally high standards and thank you for your cooperation.”
The Food Standards Agency (FCA) advised: “If you have purchased the above product and are allergic or intolerant to eggs, do not eat it.
“Instead, return it to your nearest Aldi store for a full refund.

Recall notices, when customers are asked to return a product, are issued when there is a problem with a food product that means it cannot be sold, for example if there is a risk to consumers because the allergy label is missing or incorrect, or if there is a risk of another food allergy.
