Alia’s Alpha Continues to Face Challenges

YRF had earlier issued a statement announcing that the film’s release has been postponed from December 2025 to April 2026 due to extensive VFX and pre-production work, but sources indicate that internal concerns remain within the company. “A lot of changes are being made. The environment and the market have changed significantly,” says an industry insider. “Audiences today are gravitating towards raw, down-to-earth and rustic storytelling as seen in Dhurandhar. Large-scale, VFX-heavy shows no longer automatically resonate.”

This reassessment carries all the more significance as Alpha marks YRF’s first foray into a women-led chapter in the espionage universe, headlined by Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh. While expectations are rising for the studio to expand the series, the makers are said to be taking a cautious and market-conscious approach before locking down the final release.
