Alibaba Tests New AI Chip as China Seeks Nvidia Alternatives

Alibaba (Father, Finance) Testing a new artificial intelligence chip In a statement on Friday, Wall Street Journal can offer Chinese companies more options as access to NVIDIA hardware has limited access.
The chip was built by a Chinese manufacturer and is more versatile than Alibaba’s previous AI processor produced by Taiwan semiconductor production. According to the report, it is aimed to address a wider AI inference study.
Touching comes as Beijing pressure, including Alibaba and Baytanlık to reduce Nvidia’s confidence in the H20 chip. The H20 is the most powerful AI processor that Washington still allows to be sold in China, but sales were effectively stopped at the beginning of this year before a partial re -start last month.
Alibaba, a large NVIDIA customer, who runs China’s largest cloud computing business, reported that cloud revenue increased by 26% in June quarter this week.
