Topshop is making a long-awaited return to the UK high street today after closing its last standalone store in 2021. The iconic fashion brand will appear in all 32 John Lewis department stores on Tuesday, February 17, as part of a partnership between the two brands.
The large-scale relaunch of in-person shopping is part of an expansion of new brands for the upcoming spring/summer season as John Lewis continues its £800 million long-term investment in its branches. It comes after the John Lewis Partnership confirmed the department store business would collaborate with Topshop last year and launch pop-ups in several stores.

Topshop and its sister brand Topman, seen by many as the defining fashion store of the 2000s, disappeared from the high street after former owner Arcadia went into administration in 2021.
The brand was later acquired by current owner Asos, which sells Topshop products online.
But in the early months of 2025, Topshop began advertising a return to brick-and-mortar retail before opening a residence in London’s Liberty Shopping Centre, and weeks later announced a deal to appear in John Lewis stores.
Topshop will be available in all 32 John Lewis stores, while Topman will be available in seven stores. Express.co.uk has contacted John Lewis and Topman to confirm which stores Topman will be sold in.

The launch will include 130 of Topshop’s “most in-demand pieces”. This includes signature denim items.
As part of the launch, Topshop and Topman products will also be available on John Lewis’ online platforms.
Topshop managing director Michelle Wilson said: “Today is all about making it easier for customers to access the Topshop and Topman pieces they love. From our cult denim to our new season shoes, you can see them, feel them and take them home the same day.
“The partnership with John Lewis brings Topshop back to the UK high street with the level of service our customers have come to expect.”
The brand’s arrival in stores across the country coincides with London Fashion Week and will be followed by a “takeover” of London’s Piccadilly Circus and activities elsewhere in the country.
Peter Ruis, managing director of John Lewis, said: “This moment marks a significant acceleration of our passion for fashion at John Lewis.
“Being the exclusive home of an iconic brand like Topshop, alongside other exciting new brands, demonstrates our determination to be the definitive style authority on the British high street.”
John Lewis is also introducing 14 new fashion, jewelery and accessories brands ahead of this season as it plans to expand its fashion offering.
It follows a major redesign of the fashionable floors of the department store chain’s flagship store on Oxford Street.
