Two Australian hotels named in World’s 50 Best Hotels 2025

Two Australian hotels have been ranked in the top 50 globally, while another has been awarded a prestigious title.
The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2025, presented by 50 Best, was determined by a team of 800 hoteliers, travel journalists and travel experts who compiled a list from around the world.

The top hotels included the Rosewood in Hong Kong and the Passalacqua in Italy, which ranked the best hotels in Asia and Europe.
Australia also made it onto the prestigious list for the first time, with Capella Sydney coming in 12th overall.
Capella Sydney is located in a former Department for Education office, a heritage-listed three-storey sandstone building overlooking the city, complete with a restaurant, indoor pool and hotel bars.

Ranked 34th in the top 50 was The Calile Hotel in Brisbane.
Located on James St in Fortitude Valley, it offers city and poolside views along with four restaurants and spa facilities.
Located on South Australia’s Kangaroo Island, Southern Ocean Lodge has won the American Express Travel One To Watch Award for its views overlooking the southern waters.

World’s 50 Best Hotels head of content Emma Sleight said the awards aimed to showcase the travel and hospitality industry from every corner of the world.
“This year’s list is a true celebration of the best properties in 22 destinations across six continents, and we look forward to watching and supporting the continued growth and success of the World’s 50 Best Hotels in the future,” he said.
