Alysa Liu says she was ‘chased’ to her car at airport

Olympic gold medalist Alysa Liu shared her terrifying experience at an airport on social media early Thursday.

Liu wrote on Instagram Stories that she was harassed by people with cameras and asked for things to sign before someone “chased” her to her car. He asked his fans to refrain from doing so.

“So I land at the airport and there’s a crowd waiting at the exit with cameras and things I need to sign,” he wrote. “It’s all in my personal space. Someone chased me to my car, man.

“Please don’t do this to me.”

Liu, 20, went from Olympic hopeful to gold medalist in a matter of months by winning the women’s singles figure skating competition at the Milan Cortina Games. Liu’s electric performance dazzled crowds in Italy and had Americans back home singing his praises.

This was the second of two gold medals he received during the Games. She was part of the figure skating team that won the gold medal early in the Olympics.

He’s not the only professional athlete to have to deal with crazy fans at the airport. Most importantly, professional wrestlers are outspoken about similar topics.

WWE star Rhea Ripley detailed the tense airport situation in March 2023.

Ripley told USA Network about the situation when she encountered one fan in particular at the airport and was followed after she refused to sign anything, prompting others to join in.

“I don’t think people realize how threatening this is,” he said at the time. “Especially because you don’t know what’s going to happen. I don’t know these people.”
