More than 50 lakh voters exercised their right to vote in the 2026 Assembly elections compared to the 2024 Lok Sabha election in Tamil Nadu.

However, when we look at the voting data in the Parliament elections in the last 20 years, there is nothing surprising in this. In fact, this is an example of the tradition in Tamil Nadu, where people’s interest in the voting process is always higher during Assembly elections than during Lok Sabha elections.
