Telangana Govt appoints Vinay Kumar as new Chief Wildlife Warden

The Telangana government has issued orders appointing 1992 batch IFS officer and Chief Conservator of Forests Vinay Kumar as the Chief Wildlife Warden of the State. He will replace the retired PCCF Elusing Meru.

Apart from working as Field Director at Amrabad Tiger Reserve, Mr. Vinay Kumar also held various positions outside the Forest department. He served as Project Director for Drought Prone Areas Program in Adilabad district and Commissioner for Irrigation and Command Area Development in the United States.

According to the statement made by the Ministry, he served as State Project Director in projects undertaken with the support of the World Bank and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and came second in the ‘Water for Life’ award given by the United Nations Organization in 2014 for his work on sustainable management of water resources.
