Amit Shah to Chair Security Review Meeting

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair a high-level security review meeting on Tuesday following the blast near the Red Fort that killed nine people, sources said.

Union Home Minister Govind Mohan, Director, Intelligence Bureau, Tapan Deka, Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha and DG, NIA, Sadanand Vasant Date will attend the meeting to be held at 11 am.

Jammu and Kashmir DGP Nalin Prabhat will attend the meeting virtually.

Shah said on Monday that he would hold a detailed analysis of the blast with senior security officials this morning.

“Tomorrow morning, we will have a detailed analysis of the blast in the home ministry with senior officials,” Shah told reporters after meeting the injured at the LNJP Hospital here.

The interior minister said that high-level investigation agencies are investigating the explosion with full intensity and will thoroughly investigate the explosion that occurred in a Hyundai i20 car.

A high-intensity explosion ripped through a slow-moving car at traffic signals near the Red Fort subway station Monday evening, killing nine people and gutting several vehicles, authorities said.
