Amy Schumer files for divorce from estranged husband Chris Fischer after 7 years

Fox News Digital has confirmed that Amy Schumer filed divorce papers in a New York court on Tuesday.
Schumer, 44, announced her separation from her husband Chris Fischer in a social media post last month. The former couple had been married for seven years.
Earlier this week, the “Kinda Pregnant” actress embraced the new year with a positive mindset, sharing a series of bikini photos on Instagram to declare 2026 the year of “self-care and self-love.”

Representatives for the comedian did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

In December, Schumer wrote about the “difficult decision” to end her marriage.
“We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son,” she said on social media. “We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time.”
After adding a few more “blah blah blah[s]Schumer explained that their decision to part ways as a couple “wasn’t because I lost some weight and thought I could bounce back.” [a] “basket” or because her husband “is an award-winning chef with a fiery Janlmes beard who can pull off some hot tails.”

He said the separation was “Amicable, with love and respect” and concluded the caption by saying, “Family forever.”

In the caption of a since-deleted video of her son taking a “bedroom tour” of their home, she wrote in part: “Whatever happens to me and Chris, it has nothing to do with weight loss or autism…we’ll make it through – he’s the best.”

Schumer and Fischer were first romantically linked in late 2017, and just days after making their relationship Instagram official, the couple announced they were getting married on the social media platform in February 2018.
Later that year, they announced they were pregnant with their first child and later welcomed their son, Gene, in May 2019.
