After causing a laughter riot Vishnu Vinyasamactor Sree Vishnu returns with crime thriller mrityunjayHe tries to show off his taste for variety. However, if a crime investigation story adopts an overly hero-centered narrative, it is bound to fail.
The film’s biggest flaw is its illogical portrayal of the villain. The enemy (Veer Aaryan), who disguises himself as a bald-headed, polio-affected man to kill people, suddenly reveals his identity the moment Sree Vishnu starts investigating a person with certain characteristics. He even tries to shoot the hero from the roof of his apartment complex in front of everyone. A professional killer would never commit such a ridiculous act. Even after the intermission, the villain repeatedly points a gun at the hero in public places, making the narrative even more implausible.
The story revolves around a young man who collects obituaries for his newspaper by attending funerals under different disguises; This is an ugly idea in itself. In the process, he begins to track down a serial killer. The police investigation in the film is even more disappointing. While a newspaper advertising agent manages to gather clues about a terrifying killer, the police remain unaware for a long time and continue to dismiss the murders as accidents.
Actress Reba Monica John plays a police officer and she plays it with sincerity, but her character is poorly written. The movie turns into a hero versus villain narrative. Dhruvaits role becomes largely irrelevant.
Director Sri Hussain Sha Kiran tries to use black humor in some parts. Scenes where Sree Vishnu and his friends drink in a cemetery while discussing the sanctity of graveyards, or where a hearse is treated as a valet parking vehicle at a restaurant, evoke a few laughs but are not enough to sustain the film.
The story begins with Baladitya’s character, who is afraid of being followed in the middle of the night while worrying about his young daughter. Meanwhile, Sree Vishnu, while dreaming of becoming a crime reporter, attends funerals of both Hindus and Muslims, donning various disguises to collect obituary advertisements for his newspaper. When he notices similar marks on the bodies of Baladitya and another victim, he begins to suspect foul play and begins collecting clues. Will he be able to solve the case?
Sree Vishnu delivers a few humorous moments and handles some intense scenes quite well, but even his efforts can’t save a script full of gaps and decent writing. Viewers who are familiar with crime thrillers can easily predict the course of events. Other than good cinematography, the film has little in its favor.
Director Sri Hussain Sha Kiran and his team clearly aimed to deliver a different experience. mrityunjay. However, intention alone is not enough to win the audience’s heart. A crime thriller requires sharp writing and gripping narrative from start to finish – and that’s where it bites the dust.
