The Indian Reserve Bank (RBI) announced that September 2025 will be only one bank holiday in the next week due to a regional observation. According to RBI’s duty, banks in various Indian cities and states will be closed today.
In addition, RBI has set the second and fourth Saturday of each month as bank holidays with the Sundays, which are seen as holidays in all public and private banks in India.
For those who plan important banking transactions or need relevant services, it is recommended to check the list of bank holidays for the next week. This will help to be planned and avoid last -minute discomfort.
Due to regional and local observations, it is important to state that bank holidays may vary between different states. According to the Bank holiday list of Indian Reserve Bank (RBI), all private and public banks in Jammu and Srinagar will be closed on Thursday (September 18th).
Bank holiday between 15 September – 21 September

September 18 (Thursday) – Union and public banks will be closed in Jammu and Srinagar by observing the Unitarian Anniversary Day, which was held in honor of the establishment of the Unitarian Church in 1887.
September 22 (Monday) – Since the city will celebrate Navratra Sthapna, all banks will be closed in Jaipur and mark the beginning of the celebration of navratri between Hindus.
23 September (Tuesday) – Jammu and Kashmir’s last ruling ruler Maharaja Hari Singh Ji’nin birthday celebrations Jammu and Srinagar’da all public and private banks will remain closed.
29 September (Monday) – ASHWİN’S Hindu month celebrated in the seventh day of the Durga Puja Festival Maha Söktami’nin Agartala, Calcutta and RBI for the Guwahati is a compulsory bank holiday.
30 September (Tuesday) – Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Imphal, Jaipur, Calcutta, Patna and Ranchi, including many cities, Durga Puja and Navratri’s Hindu Festival’s Hindu Festival will observe the closure of banks due to Maha Ashtami/Durga Ashtami.
