A woman has been charged with murder after a newborn baby was allegedly thrown from the eleventh floor of an apartment block. Police They accuse the woman, whom they identified only by her surname Xia, of killing her son because she was upset after breaking up with her boyfriend.

The Sun reported that on the night of the incident, Xia and her ex-boyfriend, identified only as Zhuang, argued over who the baby’s father was.

Xia and Zhuang reportedly broke up in March last year, and police said she learned she was pregnant in October 2024.

Kao Ta-Cheng of Chung Shan University Hospital claimed that the parents were arguing over the identity of the baby’s father.
