World Darts Championship 2025 results: Rob Cross sets up Luke Littler tie as Gary Anderson progresses

Former winner Rob Cross entered the PDC World Championship and was drawn in the last 16 against champion Luke Littler.

Cross, who won the race in 2018, edged Australian and 16th seed Damon Heta with a comfortable 4-0 victory.

Joining the 17th seed in the fourth round was two-time winner Gary Anderson, who dominated in a last-set thriller against Dutchman Gary Wattimena.

Scot Anderson took a 3-1 lead in a very fast-paced match and was impressive with an average of 121 points in the third set.

He missed three match darts in the fourth set, hitting a double eight with his first dart with 32 required darts, then missed the same target twice.

Wattimena fought back and forced the final set despite Anderson missing more match darts at the top in the fourth set.

After Anderson had eight darters out of nine in the final set, the pair went up at 12-all and eventually won the set 5-3, continuing his quest to become the oldest winner of the tournament at the age of 55.

His average of 102.24 was the eighth-highest average in this year’s tournament and stood at 37.5% in payouts.

Anderson told Sky Sports: “It’s not good at all for my age. It’s very difficult, especially with Jermaine on you. What a good match it was.”

“Last two games 4-0, 4-0. I hope that’s made up for. I’m going to lie down now.

“I bottled the nine-darter, just like I bottle a lot of doubles. I was getting excited, I don’t do that very often out there. But I did it.”

Sunday’s action began with 20th seed Ryan Searle defeating Germany’s Martin Schindler 4-0 to reach the fourth round for the first time since 2021.
