Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor could be ‘flight risk’, royal expert claims | Royal | News

Crown expert claimed Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was a “flight risk” and “will not face justice”. The former Duke of York, who lost his titles, honor and home and now has commoner status, was arrested this month on suspicion of misconduct in public office while he served as Britain’s trade envoy from 2001 to 2011.

He was detained for 11 hours before being released as part of the investigation. The arrest comes after the latest installment of the Jeffrey Epstein files revealed that he may have shared confidential information with the convicted sex offender. Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing. Andrew’s arrest caused a new wave of humiliation for the Royal Family, who tried to distance themselves from Andrew.

Now, a royal commentator has said he will not be charged but is a flight risk. Historian Andrew Lownie told the Daily Expresso: “No, I don’t think he will face justice. I think he is a flight risk.”

“They didn’t take his passport away. My sources told me he was so confident he wouldn’t be charged that he didn’t need to worry about disappearing.”
