The former prince’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, who has been living in the house since 2008, will also pack her bags and move out of the 30-room mansion. The royals will move into the King’s Sandringham Estate but will move into a temporary home before settling into their new home.

Andrew, who will celebrate his 66th birthday next month, has reportedly told those around him that he is “ready to leave England”.

An insider said: “Andrew has absolutely no intention of settling down quietly at Sandringham.

“He sees it as humiliating and unbecoming of him. He says if Charles and William think they can park him in a crumbling dump and pretend he doesn’t exist anymore, something else is coming.”

“She’s always been incredibly spoiled and hedonistic, and now she’s telling anyone who will listen that she’s ready to leave the UK for good and never look back.”

But he reportedly thought the Abu Dhabi palace was too quiet.
