Andrew savaged by TV host after ex-Prince suffers final humiliation | Royal | News

Andrew Mountbatten Windsor was brutally attacked by a US TV star following his fall from grace over his titles. The former prince faced fresh humiliation last week after his brother the King stripped him of the titles of Prince and Duke of York last Thursday over his links to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

In the statement made by Buckingham Palace, it was emphasized that both the King and the Queen’s thoughts are with the victims of abuse. Andrew vehemently denies any wrongdoing. Meanwhile, on Sunday Defense Secretary John Healey said his department was “working to remove” Andrew’s rank of vice admiral. This honor was bestowed on him on his 55th birthday in 2015. The rank is his last remaining honorary military title, as he reinstated the others in 2022 due to his connections to Epstein.

Now, Saturday Night Live star Michael Che took aim at the former duke during an episode of Weekend Update over the weekend.

The comedian mocked the King’s brother, saying: “Prince Andrew has been stripped of his royal title of prince due to his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

“And Andrew says he can only become a prince again if he gets the kiss of a young princess.”

Mr Che’s comment was seen as a reference to allegations by the late Virginia Giuffre that Epstein forced her to have sex with Andrew three times in New York, London and the US Virgin Islands when she was 17. Andrew has repeatedly and vehemently denied the allegations.

Andrew, meanwhile, allegedly routinely refused to sign statements supporting victims of Epstein-related abuse.

As part of the announcement, Charles and the Queen shared their “thoughts and utmost sympathies” with the “victims and survivors of all forms of abuse”.

A friend of the King and Camilla told The Sunday Times that references to victims had been removed from all previous statements prepared by courtiers and released by Buckingham Palace since Andrew’s disastrous Newsnight interview in 2019.

The newspaper claimed that such a communication required Andrew’s signature.

His friend told the newspaper that the King had “lost his patience” and that Andrew’s statement announcing the removal of the titles of Prince and Duke of York was “no longer a statement from the committee, but a statement from the King”.

Buckingham Palace declined to comment.
