Andrew Tate: British police reopen sex abuse investigation into influencer

UK police have reopened the investigation into sexual abuse allegations against the famous name Andrew Tate.

Hertfordshire Constabulary confirmed the move on Thursday.

The force first launched its investigation in 2015 after three women claimed the controversial influencer had raped and assaulted them.

However, he closed the case in 2019.

On Wednesday, the Independent Office for Police Conduct said it was investigating the force’s response to the women’s reports.

The IOPC said a former police officer could face gross misconduct investigations, while two former detective sergeants were being investigated for alleged misconduct.

The civil trial against Tate is scheduled to begin in the Supreme Court in June.

Three complainants and a fourth are suing the former professional kickboxer over allegations of sexual violence, including allegations that he grabbed one of them by the throat several times in 2015, attacked her with a belt and pointed a gun at her face.

The 39-year-old influencer denies any wrongdoing.

Hertfordshire Constabulary said in a statement: “We are determined to do the right thing and ensure that allegations of this serious nature are properly, thoroughly and fully investigated, regardless of how long ago they occurred.”
