Leaked files cast doubt on source of £2.6m in Tory donations | Boris Johnson

The conservative party faces questions about a possible violation of the election law, which contains one of the greatest philanthropists, after suspicion of official statements of £ 2.6 million of the leaked files.
More than 40 donations were recorded for more than 23 years on behalf of Rosemary Saïd, a British woman.
However, the leaked documents marked as “official-hassas” are renewing the long-standing questions about the billionaire businessman Wafic Saïd, the real source of money, although he is a husband or not from donation by the election law.
One of the documents is an official government diary from Boris Johnson’s time at the downward Street, “Political Meeting with Wafacy Said (Donor) and Rosemary.”
According to other diaries, Wafac made two separate phone calls with senior aids without Johnson and his wife.
A 85 -year -old Canadian citizen living in Monaco is forbidden to donate by the law, as it is not suitable for voting in the UK. 79 -year -old Rosemary was allowed to give money and the conservative party declared donations on behalf of the name between 2001 and 2024. During the leadership campaign, Johnson declared £ 10,000.
When he was contacted for the comment, Wafic Saïd said: “My wife is an independent rich woman, a strong supporter of the conservative party throughout her life.” He said.
“I haven’t donated to the conservative party for at least 25 years, and otherwise any suggestion would be clearly wrong, and it would be a very serious issue for me because I always respect the law.”
A conservative party spokesman said that he had made “appropriate situation detection ve in donations and added:“ We do not comment on leaked documents taken by enemy states or allegedly manipulated. ”
Obtained by files Distributed secret denial (DDOS) is a non -profit organization where the archives leaked documents and hacking. DDOS said he didn’t know the provence of the data. Guardian did not see any evidence that the files were made to a doctor.
Come forward
Born in Damascus, Wafac came to England in the 1960s and operated a restaurant in Western London. He came to the fore as a stabilist for Saudi Royals and played a role in arms sales from England to the kingdom.
In the 1990s, he gave Tories £ 300,000 – but he stopped after led to the prohibition of scandals on foreign donations. Since 2001, conservatives began to declare donations on behalf of Rosemary.
Defined as donor, instead of rosemary – instead of Boremary – Boris Johnson’s private office obtained by DDOS and shows that it appears in a series of documents in a private office.
The documents include logs recorded by the civil servants and keeping the minutes of the prime minister’s activities.
The entrance defining Wafacy as a donor was made on September 12, 2019, A month for Johnson’s premiere. He and his two senior assistants spend an hour and a half with Saïds.
Although the daily entry is not an official expression of a donor’s identity, other records show that Wafacy has benefited from privileged access to a prime minister given to donors rather than a donor’s wife.
In June 2020, as Covid pandemi increased, Johnson found half an hour for what official diaries recorded as “political phone calls ,, that is, the Torah Party is important rather than the state affairs. Johnson joined Elliot, former Etonian Elliot, whom he appointed as a party chair for turbo charging in his call for Wafacy. It seems to be watching a call with a big donor.
In March 2021, Johnson made a quick call to another donor on a train journey from Stoke-on-Trent to London and then called Wafacy again.
Other “political” meetings and telephone conversations recorded in the diaries were among Johnson and conservative party donors, ministers, personnel or consultants.
There is no record of Rosemary’s calls with Wafacy, and at the Downing Street meeting he attended with Wafacy, Johnson’s 10 was not named in the billets covering the entire two -month time.
Wafaf said: “At my age, I don’t remember these conversations. However,,, [Johnson] Covid may have thanked me for his contribution to vaccination research. “Sermon in 2020 given To finance this work, £ 3 million to Oxford University.
Steve Goodrich, the Head of Research in International UK and Senior Policy Advisor in International UK, said, “reliable claims about breaking rules” should be investigated.
“Election law is crystal that parties and politicians can only accept donations from permitted resources and that buyers should verify the fund source,” he said.
“Only accepts the donors that are allowed in the law. Appropriate care has been taken to ensure that these donations are allowed and correctly notified in the law. Other individuals can support a political party without a donor.”
Wafac said he knew Johnson “long before prime minister”.
Approaching the comment, Johnson did not answer certain questions about donations. Guardian likened the leaked files to the Soviet propaganda.
‘Real friend and admiration’
Files also contain a copy of a letter written to Johnson when they resigned as Prime Minister. He said that Johnson watched his last speech from the distribution box was “emotional ve and praised him about a” a legacy to pride ”.
“I really enjoyed all the meetings we had in person or through Zoom, Ba Bafac continued. “I hope now you are free from high office loads, we will see you more often. Also, you realize that you are a real friend and you are admired. Rosemary joins me while sending you and all our hot wishes and love.”
Johnson replied: “Although there is much more when the opportunity is given, I am proud of my time. I am grateful for your ongoing support and friendship.” “Please send the best of my best to Rosemary and I’m looking forward to seeing you soon.”
