Anmol Bishnoi to Be Deported from US in Baba Siddique Case

Mumbai, Nov 18 (PTI) Gangster Anmol Bishnoi, one of the key accused in the NCP leader Baba Siddique murder case, has been deported from the US to India, a police official said here on Tuesday. He added that Bishnoi, who is also one of the wanted accused in the case related to the house firing of Bollywood star Salman Khan in April 2024, is expected to land in Delhi on Wednesday.

Mumbai police has sent two proposals regarding his extradition, there are multiple cases registered against the gangster across the country and the Union government will decide which agency should be given his custody first, the official said.

This is a multi-agency operation and once he is brought to India, Mumbai police will also seek his custody in their own cases, the official said.

Earlier this month, investigative agencies received information that Bishnoi, who was traveling between the USA and Canada, was detained in Canada.

The official said that the person was carrying a Russian Passport obtained based on a forged document.

In November last year, Anmol Bishnoi was detained by authorities in the US.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh to him.

Anmol Bishnoi’s name also surfaced in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, who was shot dead in 2022.

NCP leader and Baba Siddique’s son Zeeshan Siddique told PTI that he received an email informing that Anmol Bishnoi had been “removed” from the US. “This means he is not in the US and should be brought to India and tried for the crimes he committed,” the former MLA said. he added.

Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister, was shot dead outside his son Zeeshan’s office in Bandra on the night of October 12, 2024.

In Siddique’s murder, many people linked to the gang led by Anmol’s older brother Lawrence Bishnoi, who is in prison, were arrested.

Mumbai police had invoked the provisions of the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) in the Baba Siddique murder case. Police arrested at least 26 accused in the case and Anmol Bishnoi, Shubham Lonkar and Zishan Mohammed Akhtar were named among those wanted in the case.
