Anne Burrell’s cause of death revealed: Officials say ‘Worst Cooks in America’ host died of acute intoxication

Burrell was found unconscious and unresponsive in the shower around 7:50 am on June 20. New York City Fire Department emergency intervention teams pronounced dead at the scene. A New York Police Department certificate specified by the New York Times said it was discovered “surrounded by about 100 various pills”.
Burrell took the stage at the night before his death in Brooklyn, witnesses described him as “happy”, “in big souls” and usual “fun, outgoing” self.
In a statement, Burrell’s family expressed his deep sorrow: “A mother was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother and friends – her smile illuminated every room she entered … Although not with us, her warmth, spirit and unlimited love remains eternal.”
Burrell was born on September 21, 1969 in Jazenovia, New York, and developed a love to cook in the early hours of life affected by his mother and kitchen icon Julia Child. He graduated from the American Culinary Institute in 1996 and became a Sous chef in Iron Chef America. Over the years, he has become one of the most prominent personalities of the food network, hosted 27 seasons of the worst chefs in the United States, and directed the serial secrets of a restaurant chief nominated for his own Emmy. He also took part in Chef Wanted, Chopped, Food Network Star and House of Bnives.
Burrell married Stuart Claxton in 2021 after meeting in his personal life, Bumble. Thinking about his relationships, in 2020, he said to People Magazine:

Mother Burrell survived by her husband Stuart Claxton, her son Javier, her mother Marlene, her sister Jane and her brother.
