The UK high street with the most empty shops – not Blackpool | UK | News

England High Street saw better days. The British all over the country had to say goodbye to most of their local clothing stores, supermarkets and banks with a big blow to the street. However, a recent report revealed which street in the country has the most struggling by ReveAled with the most empty stores.
Cities center The Minister looked at the 62 largest cities and towns of England to find out which high streets failed and the reasons. He found that the collapse in the shops was the result of three main things – the low local expenditure power, too many retail space and the retail leakage to larger cities.
The report listed the top 10 cities with the highest and lowest estimated retail gap and gave each one percentage and took the highest time when Newport reached 10.
The city of Wales has an estimated city center High Street gap ratio, which is twice as much as London’s 7.4%. However, the report states that the city has more retail areas than larger cities, including Wigan and Middlesborough, with Brighton and Liverpool, the wehre space rate is less than 10%.
In addition, while the Newport Train is less than 15 minutes away from Cardiff or a quick driving distance, customers often travel to the Wales Capital to make their shopping, causing a street spending loss of about 5%.
The report shows that cities and city centers with high space rates should be reshaped to address the excessive supply of retail areas.
Andrew Carter, CEO of Cities Center, said: “Our research shows that High Street is not everywhere.
“Struggling city centers are extremely supported by shops and are not sufficiently supported with people. If there is not enough money for local inhabitants or if there is no reason to be in the center, no matter what the high streets are-whatever interventions.”
In the 2010s, Newports High Street was regenerated as part of a wider plan of £ 2.6 million to improve the city center shopping experience.
