Australian businesses hope that Prime Minister Anthony Arbanese’s meetings with China’s President Xi Jinping will bring back the confidence in the Chinese market and the most important trade partner of Australia.
Leigh Howard, Chairman of the University of Melbourne, Department of Business Administration, said that companies are looking for confidence that the Australian government would support strong commercial ties with China during the increasing trade uncertainty with the US.

“What Australian enterprises are currently needed is not only in market access, but also in strategy and policy environments, especially at a time when Washington’s sweeping tariffs offer the opposite of the opposite,” he said.
