Anthropic opens Bengaluru office; partners with Air India, edu-nonprofit Pratham, others in AI push — Details here
US-based artificial intelligence (AI) specialist Anthropic on Tuesday, February 16, 2026, announced that it will open an office in Bengaluru, Karnataka, as it focuses on partnerships with Air India, educational non-profit organization Pratham and others amid a broader push into AI.
In the official filing, the company said it will announce more partnerships in sectors such as education, agriculture and business, among others, to deepen its AI commitments in India.
“Today, as we officially open our Bengaluru office, we are announcing partnerships in business, education and agriculture that deepen our commitment to India across a range of sectors,” the company said in its official statement.
Partnership with Air India, Cognizant and others
Anthropic supports Air India with Code Claude; This is helping the airline develop and ship custom software faster and at lower cost, amid a broader push for agency AI use in operations.
The company also noted that tech giant Cognizant has deployed the same Claude Code technology to 350,000 employees worldwide to modernize legacy systems.
Payments startup CRED has also reportedly achieved faster feature delivery and better testing coverage by using the services of AI.
“Air India is using Claude Code to help developers ship custom software faster and at lower cost, as part of a broader push to use agency AI in its operations. CRED has achieved 2x faster feature delivery and 10% better test coverage with Claude Code. And Cognizant has deployed Claude to 350,000 users globally to modernize legacy systems, accelerate software development and drive AI adoption among its enterprise customers,” the company said. “He distributes it to his employees,” he said.
Other startups, such as Razorpay, are using the company’s AI to integrate it into their risk systems, decision-making processes and operations.
