Anti-Hate Taskforce to hear from LGBTIQA+ community in wake of violent attacks

The help line will give advice to the callers about how to report rights and events to the police and connect them to medical, legal and consultancy services.
Stock Minister Vick Ward said that the service will provide free and confidential support from trained LGBTQ professionals and will be delivered by the community -based non -profit Victoria from the Rainbow Door Help line.
“The Rainbow Gate has long been a reliable service for LGBTIQA+ communities,” he said.
“Expanding access to support people with homophobic violence will make a real difference.”
Jenna Tuke, the general manager of the group, said that the fear of not being believed, not being guilty, fear of losing control of the information around them is obstacles to accessing support.
“This was prepared for narratives accusing the sacrifice that may unite the fear of going out or exposing,” Tuke said.
The anti -hate task force was founded in July in response to an increase in antisemitic attacks, including a synagogue arson. The July meeting focused on anti -Semitism in consultation with the Jewish community.
