An illegal immigrant from El Salvador who was wanted for alleged child rape and lived near a school was arrested last week, a month after anti-ICE agitators blew up a sting operation by federal authorities to capture him, Fox News has learned.
Video footage shot by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in the sanctuary city of Boston on February 12 shows anti-ICE activists yelling obscenities from inside a vehicle at an agent who was recording them.
At the time, ICE was trying to detain Walter Roberto Vides-Ortez, who was wanted for child rape in his native El Salvador.

Agents were in their vehicle at Vides-Ortez’s home in East Boston. They were waiting for him to come out when they were quickly surrounded by activists who whistled at them, cursed at them, and told them they were traumatizing children at a nearby elementary school down the street.
One agitator called the agents “criminals.”
Their identities were revealed, but no arrests were made. Fox News Digital reached out to ICE and the Department of Homeland Security.

Vides-Ortez was arrested on March 12. An ICE agent told Fox News that Vides-Ortez lived near a school and was on the streets much longer than he should have been, posing a public safety risk.
He entered the United States illegally through Texas in 2016, the same year El Salvador issued an arrest warrant for him. It is thought he fled to the US to avoid prosecution.
ICE and Trump administration officials have repeatedly said ICE goes after illegal immigrants who commit crimes in the United States.
Video taken by an agitator in Minnesota shows an ICE agent in St. He is seen confronting people who were honking their car horns and disrupting federal officers as they tried to detain a suspect in St. Paul.
“We are here Arresting the person who sexually abused a child and you guys are here honking your horn,” the manager says in the video.
“No, we’re the press,” someone off-camera replies. “We don’t honk our horns.”

The agent then points to a nearby vehicle.
“That car over there is honking its horn and obstructing our investigations while we’re trying to arrest a person who is sexually abusing children. You’re protecting him. He’s crazy.”
