AOC tells Riley Gaines to ‘get a real job’ sparking heated exchange

Riley Gaines and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-Y., have been firing back and taking shots at each other across different media types after the conservative commentator posted a photo of AOC with Zohran Mamdani and Bernie Sanders with the caption, “We’re being destroyed from within.”
In the latest exchange, AOC took another jab at Gaines, telling the 25-year-old new mother to “get a real job” after challenging the New York lawmaker to a debate following her latest appearance on “The Ingraham Angle.”
The University of Kentucky graduate responded to

Another conservative influencer, Allie Beth Stuckey, argued Gaines’ response.
Stuckey posted on X, responding to a 2020 tweet from AOC in which she wrote, “Sex work is work.”
“Being a mother and women’s advocate is not a ‘real job,’ but prostitution is,” the Dallas-born social media star wrote. “Girls’ access to private spaces and fair competitions are not women’s rights, but killing babies is women’s rights. Considered.”
Ocasio-Cortez also poked Gaines in x, “Maybe if you channeled all that anger into swimming faster you wouldn’t be fifth.”

Social media users focused on the latest post.
Amy Reichert is a local politician in San Diego. wrote to x“Imagine hating another woman for standing up for women, then making fun of her for not beating up a man. This is the left’s feminism in 2025.”
Gary Francione, professor emeritus at Rutgers University, also told AOC: saying in x“How regressive of you to revive the old sexist nonsense about women having to try harder to compete with men – even though it’s a women’s sport. I’ve been a Dem my whole adult life and what you elites are doing to your woke party is an absolute travesty.”

A commenter on X under the name “@DesireeAmerica4” wrote: “Who else thinks Riley Gaines would definitely drink AOC in a live debate?”
“I could argue with him any time,” the Tennessee-born college swimmer said. “He may advocate socialism – I will advocate capitalism. He may advocate the abolition of God – I will advocate a biblical worldview. He may advocate child sacrifice – I will defend the sanctity of life.”
Ocasio-Cortez has not yet responded to Gaines’ request for debate.
