AP CM Launches Stree Shakti Statewide Free Bus Travel Scheme for Women

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Prime Minister N Chandrababu Naidu launched the ‘Stree Shakti’, a free bus travel plan for women in the presence of leaders in the nin leaders.

As part of Stree Shakti, all girls, women and transsexual people with Andhra Pradesh residing status can travel anywhere in the state. CM Naidu, Deputy Pawan Kalyan and IT Minister Nara Loksh traveled on a bus accompanied by women.

While passing through Tadepalli village in Gundur region, a few people applauded them, the beneficiaries changed to sit next to CM, Kalyan and Loksh.

The Stree Shakti scheme will allow the users to travel throughout the state in five categories of Pallevelugu, Ultra Pallevelugu, City ordinary, Metro Express and Express services.

Approximately 2.62 crore women in the state are expected to benefit from this plan. 74 percent of the 11,449 bus fleet under the APSRTC will be open for free travel for girls, women and transsexuals under Stree Shakti.

The free bus travel program for women is the promise of ‘Super Six’ given by Naidu to the 2024 survey. Super six promises, 1,500 RS monthly aid for each woman between 19 and 59 years old, 20 Lakh work for youth or 3,000 monthly unemployment allowances and free bus travel for women.

Other six promises, 15,000 RS (Talliki Vandanam) for each child who goes to every school per year, three free gas cylinders for each household (Deepam – 2) and annual financial assistance to each farmer (Annadata Sukhibhava).
