AP Govt to Strengthen Education, Skill Development through CEDM: Farooq
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Minister N Md Farooq on Wednesday inaugurated the CEDM office at Vaddeswaram in Guntur district, saying the initiative aims to expand educational opportunities, strengthen skill development and improve employment opportunities for youth from minority communities across the state.
The Minister said the Center for Educational Development of Minorities will provide free coaching for competitive exams in both online and offline modes and provide access to students who cannot attend classroom sessions.
“The government believes that education is the foundation of lasting social change and gives the highest priority to the educational advancement of minorities,” the minister of state for Minority Welfare said in a press release. he said.
According to the minister, the center will focus on skill development, career guidance and training programs to increase the employability of minority youth.
Farooq said that with the financial support of the Foundation Board, special training will be provided to 7,000 Urdu teacher candidates, while incentives will be provided to the best performing 250 candidates.
He claimed that 11.5 per cent of minority candidates qualified in the recent District Election Committee examinations, while 48 per cent of those selected were minority women, reflecting the government’s focus on women empowerment.
The Minister said that smart classrooms, modern educational facilities and financial aid programs will be implemented under the Public-Private Partnership model through CEDM.
He said the government aimed to nurture minority youth into entrepreneurs and future leaders while creating employment opportunities, adding that thousands of students and unemployed youth were expected to benefit from the initiative.
