AP to Organise Awareness Programmes for Farmers on Modern Methods

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government will organize the Rytanna Mee Kosam program from November 24 to 29, which aims to make agriculture profitable through ‘revolutionary’ changes in cultivation.

Focusing on a five-point formula for agricultural profitability, the initiative involves Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) visiting farmers’ homes during this period to raise awareness about new farming methods.

As part of the program, MLAs will visit farmers’ homes from November 24 to 29 to make farmers aware of new farming methods, an official press release said. In addition to home visits, workshops will also be held at Rythu Seva centers on December 3.

To create awareness among farmers, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu held a teleconference with officials on Thursday and issued instructions towards this goal. “The Chief Minister said that the state government is committed for the welfare of farmers and has extended a loan of Rs 6,310 crore in two installments under the Annadata Sukhibhava Chief Kisan scheme,” the statement said.

The TDP chief also called for conducting awareness programs for dairy, poultry, horticulture and sericulture farmers. He said that the action plan for organizing the programs should be created by Rytu Seva centres. Naidu noted that natural agriculture should be supported to add value to agricultural products. The CM said that soil will be protected through natural farming and called for the promotion of organic products in Rythu Markets.

According to Naidu, while the cost of cultivation should be reduced by using technology, food processing units will also help in adding value to agricultural products.
