APFT urges government to announce 30% IR for State employees, teachers

NTR district Andhra Pradesh Teachers Federation (APTF) elected its new officers in the second council meeting held at the State office in Vijayawada on Sunday, December 14, 2025.
The members of the federation unanimously elected Vemulapalli Radhika as district president, Syed Qasim as general secretary, E. Poornachandra Rao, N. Avani, Nayeem Mohammed and D. Rajkumar as vice-presidents, B. Vasaram, A. Sundara Rama Rao, S. Ramu, Sheikh Khaja and Lal Ahmed as secretary and PV Durgaprasad and K. Sultana as State Secretary. They elected them as Members of Parliament. State vice president of the Federation P. Venkateswarlu served as district election officer.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Radhika said that during the last two years, the district unit has been working proactively to resolve the problems of teachers and address challenges in the education sector, while Mr. Qasim submitted a detailed report on the activities of the union in the last two years, which was discussed and approved by the representatives of various mandal branches.
APTF State vice president MW Anitha urged the State government to constitute the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC) and provide 30% interim relief to employees and teachers. Former State chief secretary P. Panduranga Varaprasada Rao alleged that Central and State government policies encouraged privatization and increased working hours and called for collective opposition, urging members to respond to future programs of the State union.
