The two appeared to be talking to each other as they walked towards safety; Richardson still appeared to be poking her and reaching for her face. According to a police report, Coleman denied being a victim in the case.

In January 2023, Richardson was kicked off a plane following a dispute with a flight attendant who he said spoke to him disrespectfully.

Richardson was banned from competing at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 after testing positive for THC, a chemical found in the drug marijuana. He accepted a one-month suspension from the United States Anti-Doping Agency, which left him unable to participate in the 100 meters. He was also not selected for the 4×100 relay team.

The sprinter made her Olympic debut in Paris in 2024, winning gold in the women’s 4×100 meter relay and silver in the 100 meter race.
