Trump Claims US Halted India-Pakistan Conflict, ‘Five Jets Shot Down’; India Reacts Strongly | India News

US President Donald Trump claimed that his personal intervention had led to the stopping of hostilities between India and Pakistan after the “Sindoor Operation” in May 2025, and even claimed that he believed that “four or five” jets were thrown during the conflict. These second statements this week contradict the consistent denials of India’s US mediation.
April 22, 2025, referring to the latest tensions rising after the expensive attack, President Trump said, “We ended too much war. And these were great wars. India and Pakistan were there and growing and growing and increasing and solved through trade.” The authority claimed that the US threatened to cancel trade agreements if the US ignitions did not end.
Trump also speculated about the air direction of the war: “In fact, the planes were hit by the sky. Although five, five, four or five, but referring to the planes of the country, I believe that five jets were actually dropped.”
Rejects the allegations of India Mediation
Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar constantly excluded any idea of the US about the intervention of India-Pakistan’s increase. Earlier this month, in an interview with Newsweek, Jaishankar announced his diplomatic interaction for a long time.
May 9, 2025 remembered a night meeting between US Vice President JD Vance and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Jaishankar, “Vice President Vance on the evening of May 9, I can guarantee that I am in the room when I called Prime Minister Modi, and Pakistanis reported that they will make a huge attack on India … We did not listen to some things and the Prime Minister did not worry about what Pakistanis would do.”
“On the contrary, (PM Modi) argued that there will be an answer from us.” The Indian Foreign Minister later phoned US Secretary of State Marco Rubio the next morning and announced that Rubio was “ready to speak Pakistani.”
Although Islamabad officially thanked President Trump for “mediation”, the new Delhi’s stable position insists that the solution to the conflict against India’s expensive attack on India’s “Sindoor Operation” is the result of direct dual military and diplomatic efforts without mediation intervention.
