Arne Slot should drop Mohamed Salah says Wayne Rooney in latest podcast
Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk said after Saturday’s defeat that “everyone in the team has to take responsibility” and with Slot’s team having won just one win in their last seven league games, the shadow of his predecessor is starting to loom over the Dutchman.
“I think Slot has a great job to do to get them to play again and win,” Rooney said.
“The important thing is that Klopp’s name continues to be mentioned when he gets such results.
“It’s a bit like Sir Alex Ferguson coming in. Like David Moyes coming in. [at Manchester United] And [Louis] Van Gaal, Fergie’s name was always mentioned.
“With Slot, Klopp keeps coming up. ‘He’s not Jurgen Klopp, he’s not as good as Jurgen Klopp.’
“But I think Liverpool fans need to move away from that and get behind it.”
