Arshdeep Singh 15% of Match Fee For ICC Code of Conduct Breach in T20 World Cup Final

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has fined Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh 15 per cent of his match fee for Level 1 violation of the ICC Code of Conduct in the T20 World Cup 2026 final against New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
In a statement, the ICC said that Arshdeep had violated Article 2.9 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which relates to “throwing a ball (or any other cricket equipment) at or near a player during an International Match in an improper and/or dangerous manner”. He said he violated the article.
“As well as the fine, a demerit point was added to Arshdeep’s disciplinary record, making it his first offense in a 24-month period,” the ICC added.
The penalty came after Arshdeep fielded the ball and bowled it to New Zealand batsman Daryl Mitchell, which hit his pads. Arshdeep and Mitchell were later seen shaking hands.
“There was no need for a formal hearing as the Indian bowler accepted the sanction recommended by Andy Pycroft of the Emirates ICC Elite Match Referee Panel,” the ICC said.
India defeated New Zealand by 96 runs in the final to claim their record-breaking third T20 World Cup title.
